Iverna Gardens
Project: mountainsThis week the children will be learning about the mountain biome. They will learn how mountains are formed through the movement of tectonic plates on Earth’s surface over millions of years.
Throughout the week, the children will get the opportunity to participate in the volcano experiment, and learn about the water cycle, and how and why rain falls on higher land. They will be able to make mountains out of cardboard boxes. They will learn about people who live at high altitude and learn about the different animal habitats. In drama, the children will act out a story based on The Bear that went over the Mountain, and will make a mountain page in their biome book.
