For the next two weeks the children will explore the topic of air. We will talk about what air is, and how it is important for our survival. We will gaze at the sky whilst outside, and use pictures and models whilst inside, in order to discuss how air is invisible, and yet has so many qualities (by using a range of science experiments, art activities and books, we will explore these qualities further).

Here are some things to think about:

  • What is air exactly? What are the two most important gases found in air?
  • On a windy day, what does the air feel like against your skin or through your hair? Does it make your hat fall off?
  • What is your ideal way to travel through the sky?
  • Do fish and underwater plants need air to survive?
