“Water is life’s matter and matrix, mother and medium. There is no life without water.” Albert Szent-Györgyi

For the next two weeks we will learn about water, and that it is the source of life. The children will have an opportunity to share where they find water, and recall if they have been to the sea. We we will ask questions such as where does water come from, what is it like, and what do we use it for?

We will experiment with salt water and fresh water, learn about the various stages of the water cycle, and discuss the importance of saving water. We will discuss and experiment with food, noticing how juicy foods are, and learning that there is water in what we drink and eat too.

We will explore land and water forms, and categorize animals by where they live. We will look at ocean animals and learn about the layers of the sea.
