This week we are learning about the grassland biome which covers 20% of the planet. This biome can be found on every continent except Antarctica. Grasslands can be temperate or tropical. We will be concentrating on the African savanna, a tropical grassland. Its wide open spaces, and its richness in grasses, support a great diversity of animals: herbivores such as antelopes, zebras and giraffes, and carnivores such as lions, cheetahs and leopards.
